Ecology & Environment : As pe Government Directions a subject named Environmental Science & Energy Management has been included.
Entrepreneurship Development: A subject on Entrepreneurship Development has been incorporated after IInd Semester.
General Proficiency : A provision of 6 periods per week has been made. It Included of various cocurricular activities like games, hobby clubs, seminars, declamation contests, extension lectures, NCC, NSS, cultural activities and discipline etc.

DETAILED CONTENTS

1. Introduction to commercial buildings:

a)     Types of offices.

b)     Anthropometric data relating to the offices.

c)      Study of the changing requirements and new trends of the office spaces.

2. Design Scheme                                                                                                                        (Six Sheets)

Designing of office spaces like: travel agency, lawyer’s office, educational institute, advertising agency, bank, multi-national company, insurance company, architect’s office, interior designer’s office and export/fashion houses.

The students will be required to prepare detailed drawings:

EXERCISES

1.      Case study

§  Before starting the project, the students will be required to do research work on the functioning of an office with special emphasis on the physical, social and psychological requirements.

§  Students will prepare a report for the same.

2.      A minimum area of 2000 sqft. will be provided to the students. Based upon the chosen office, the students will work out the various spatial requirements of the office.

Note:

1.      Survey and Case Study to be evaluated at internal exam level through presentation.

2.      Relevant theory will be taught along with studio work. 

3.      There will be no theory paper in this subject. 

4.      Students will be taken for site visits as required.
